We Answer Your FightNight 30 Questions

Can you believe it’s been 30 years since The Real Estate Council laced up its gloves and stepped into the ring for the very first FightNight? Since its inception, TREC FightNight has become a philanthropic institution in our city and inspired similar events across the country, and on April 26 we return to the Hilton Anatole hotel for another night of boxing, casino gaming, cigars and fundraising for the Dallas Catalyst Project.

We know you’ve got questions about FightNight 30, so here are (some) answers:

I don’t want to miss anything. What time should I arrive?

FightNight 30 will take place on Thursday, April 26 at the Hilton Anatole Hotel. Our VIP reception begins at 6 p.m., while our general reception begins at 7 p.m. Both will take place in the Chantilly Foyer.

I’ve heard the dress code for this year’s FightNight is “white tie.” What does that mean?

It means you’re going to look fantastic, as “white tie” is known as the most formal of formal eveningwear. For men, this generally consists of a black tailcoat, a waistcoat, a white shirt and bow tie worn with a detachable collar, all worn with black trousers and patent leather shoes. Women typically wear full-length evening or ball gowns, jewelry (including tiaras!) and evening gloves, and carry small bags.

Where should I park?

All guests will receive a valet pass. Valet parking, sponsored by KDC, will be located at the Chantilly entrance. We’d also recommend taking Uber or Lyft to spare yourself the gas. First time riders can get a free ride using HITTHEROAD (Uber) or LYFTCOUPON9 (Lyft).

Do I need a ticket?

Yes! We will mail tickets to your table host and they will distribute to you. If you still need to purchase a ticket, you may do so here.

How will I know where to sit?

Your ticket will include a table assignment, where you may eat and watch the fights with your guests. Each table will be assigned a hostess, who will be dressed in black tuxedo jackets and tails. Dinner and the evening’s program will begin at 8 p.m., and boxing will begin at 9:30 p.m.

How do I try my luck at the casino games?

Casino games, sponsored by HFF, will open at 9:30 p.m. in the Wedgwood Ballroom and run through midnight. Each guest will receive a playing chip for use in blackjack, roulette and craps. Additional chips will be available for purchase, and winnings may be cashed for raffle entries!

Can I place bets on the fights?

Bets on the evening’s bouts will start at $10. You may place bets with your table’s hostess or at the Betting Booth, sponsored by NexBank, where volunteers will assist you. Winnings may be exchanged for raffle entries at the Betting Booth.

How can I win raffle prizes?

We will have three raffles during FightNight 30. The first will come from tickets purchased through our ALC class members or your hostesses during the evening’s cocktail reception. You may also enter the casino raffle by exchanging your winnings for tickets. Or, if you win bets you place on the fights, you can exchange winnings at the Betting Booth.

What can you win at this year’s FightNight? We’ll let you know in the days leading up to the event!

Will TREC offer a Cigar Lounge again this year?

Yes. This year, Todd Interests has generously sponsored our Cigar Bar, which will be located near the Chantilly Foyer. You may consume cigars purchased at the Cigar Bar only at the outdoor Cigar Lounge located outside the Wedgwood Foyer entrance.

How about a hashtag for social media posts?

We have two! Use the hashtags #TRECFightNight and #FightNight 30 for your tweets and photos and be sure to tag @trecdallas in your posts!

Help! I don’t own a tuxedo!

We’ve got you covered! Or, perhaps more accurately, Mister Tuxedo has you covered with a 20 percent discount if mention TREC FightNight during your fitting.

Hold up! I still have questions!

We’ll have answers! Please contact The Real Estate Council at 214.692.3601. You can also contact your table host with questions.
