A few weeks ago, when the ball dropped on 2018, you probably made a New Year’s resolution or two to be a better version of yourself than the one that celebrated the passing of another year. We here at The Real Estate Council made a few resolutions of our own, and one of our most important ones was to do even more to bring you the latest and greatest, most cutting-edge insider info on the commercial real estate industry and markets. So we’re thrilled to finally introduce our newest educational program series, Market Matters!
Wait, what’s that?
Market Matters will bring together leading firms and decision-makers in the commercial real estate industry for unparalleled access to expert insights, networking and intel on the markets and economy – it’s pretty similar to the former Industry Insights.
Will Industry Insights return in 2018?
It will not.
So TREC’s programs now consist of Market Matters, Bank of Texas Speaker Series, Power Hour and C Circle?
Yes.
Any other program changes?
Remember our webinars? We’re replacing them with a podcast series that will allow us to more frequently produce engaging content that you can listen to on your mobile device! We’ll tell you more about it in the next few weeks.
Will Market Matters be a quarterly event like Industry Insights was?
No. There will only be two Market Matters events this year.
When is the first one?
It’s coming up! Register to attend and mark your calendars for February 14 – Valentine’s Day! We’ll be at the Crescent’s Gallery Ballroom, located at 400 Crescent Court in Dallas, TX, 75201. The event will run from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m.
And the other?
In October.
What will this first one be about?
The program title is “Mixed Use Summit,” which will feature regional and national players in the office and multifamily sectors offering their projections for 2018.
That sounds interesting! Who will be speaking?
There will be an opening keynote conversation between Karahan Companies President and CEO Fehmi Karahan and TREC Immediate Past Chairman Greg Kraus, of Invesco Real Estate. A panel discussion will follow featuring Jonathan Brinsden (Midway), Mark Cover (Hines), Kristian Teleki (Matthews Southwest), John Zogg (Crescent Real Estate) and others!
I guess I’ll see you on Valentine’s Day?
We can’t wait!
