The Real Estate Council (TREC) announced today its political action committee is endorsing 14 candidates for office in the upcoming Dallas City Council election.

The list of PAC-endorsed candidates includes 11 incumbents and three new candidates hoping to fill the seats that will be vacated by term-limited councilmembers Adam Medrano (District 2), Lee Kleinman (District 11), and Jennifer Staubach Gates (District 13).

The PAC is supporting Jesse Moreno for District 2, Barry Wernick for District 11, and Leland Burk for District 13. Incumbents the TREC PAC is supporting are Chad West for District 1, Casey Thomas II for District 3, Carolyn King Arnold for District 4, Jaime Resendez for District 5, Omar Narvaez for District 6, Adam Bazaldua for District 7, Tennell Atkins for District 8, Paula Blackmon for District 9, Adam McGough for District 10, Cara Mendelsohn for District 12, and David Blewett for District 14.

“Fifty-seven candidates signed up to run for a seat on the council, and our PAC members interviewed more than 40 council hopefuls over a two-week period,” said TREC PAC Chair Kristian Teleki. “We feel confident that the slate of candidates we selected to endorse understand our interests as stakeholders, as well as the needs of our industry, and will deliberate purposefully on issues that will impact our industry’s growth and the financial health and economic well-being of our membership.”

Early voting for the spring general election begins Monday, April 19 and ends Tuesday, April 27. The general election is Saturday, May 1, 2021.
