As we prepare to gather with friends and loved ones for a day of feasting and football this Thanksgiving, it’s important to reflect on the blessings we’ve been fortunate to enjoy this past year. The Real Estate Council is grateful to our members for their unyielding generosity and dedication to our city. We’re grateful to be part of such a strong and welcoming community of commercial real estate professionals here in Dallas.
In what is becoming an annual tradition for us, we’ve asked our Executive Committee what they are thankful for this holiday season. Here’s what they told us:
PRESIDENT AND CEO Linda McMahon, The Real Estate Council
“I am grateful for our team – both the TREC staff and the 2,200-plus members and 650-plus companies that make up The Real Estate Council – whose investments in our city and the commercial real estate industry here in Dallas make our work possible and rewarding. I am also thankful for my wonderful friends and family for their love, support, and guidance.”
CHAIRMAN Jim Knight, KFM Engineering & Design
“I am thankful for all the blessings given to me and my family. Our health, safety and opportunity to make a difference in this world lead this list. All gifts come through God and he has blessed many. Let us all give thanks and enjoy the time with our families during this special holiday.”
PAST CHAIR Ran Holman, Cushman & Wakefield
“I am thankful to work in an industry of leaders where it is recognized that for Dallas to achieve its potential it is bigger than them and/or their firms. I am thankful that TREC is where they meet as colleagues and friends to develop leaders, improve our city and shape the Real Estate industry.”
SECRETARY Michael Krywucki, Munsch Hardt Kopf & Harr P.C.
“I am thankful for my family (human and pets!), friends, Firm and my clients for being supportive and a source of strength and guidance.  I am also thankful for being welcomed into the TREC Family more than 25 years ago and getting to be an active part of an incredibly giving organization that works hard to create a better community and life for those within it.   I am further thankful for the freedoms we enjoy living in the greatest country on earth and for those who sacrifice to ensure we have such freedoms.”
TREC COMMUNITY FUND CHAIR Kate Cavanaugh, Stewart Title
“I am grateful for the abundant blessings of faith, family, community and opportunities to serve others. The Real Estate Council has afforded many of those opportunities, and it is a privilege to be a part of these impactful endeavors. Within TREC,  I am thankful to work and serve alongside exceptional leaders and professionals who have become friends, business partners and help  expanded my understanding of how we can collectively help address the needs of our City.”
ALC CLASS OF 2020 CHAIR Matt Ballard, CBRE
“I am incredibly thankful for the people I get to spend my life with.  My family, friends and business relationships are far more than I deserve.  I am also thankful for the opportunity to lead a phenomenal group of young professionals in this year’s ALC class and for the meaningful work of the TREC staff and membership.  It is no small task to point this wild, eclectic group of real estate folks in the direction of consistently impactful work throughout our city.”
DALLAS CATALYST PROJECT CHAIR Mike Geisler, Venture Commercial Real Estate, LLC
“I am truly thankful for the generosity  of our TREC members.  They give not only financially but are most generous with their time and talent.”
YOUNG GUNS CHAIR Teddy Leatherman, JLL
“I am thankful for my family, friends and the incredible people I have the privilege to work beside and learn from every day. I will be forever thankful for TREC and the opportunity to serve as the Young Guns Chair this past year.”
