TREC Community Fund’s loan recipient, Recipe Oak Cliff, is making headlines! Owned and managed by Tisha Crear, Recipe OC is a cozy 1000-square-foot space that houses a juice bar, market and shared commercial kitchen space. This fresh food concept offers a range of vegan, plant-based drinks and eats in the food desert of 75216.
A $213,000 loan from TREC Community Fund,  in partnership with Embrey Family Foundation’s program related investment (PRI), helped acquire and rehab the property, and provided working capital to start the business operations. More than 20 TREC members helped with the business model assessment, site selection, construction management and property tax assessment.
During WFAA’s 6 p.m. news, Maggie Parker, TREC Community Fund Manager, said,”We’re really looking to be the lender where a traditional bank isn’t willing to go, then we are trying to get into those projects and get our members involved and see how we can support economic development.”
To see Recipe OC for yourself, come to the grand opening and block party on April 1!
