Patrick Henning, Brasfield & Gorrie
2022 Young Guns Chair
How did you enjoy the return of Young Guns Casino Night? Why do you think an event like Casino Night resonates so well with our young Guns members?
The return of Casino Night was a great event for our Young Guns and it couldn’t have been pulled off at such a high level without all the hard work by the Casino Night Chair Jasmin Ammons. I think it resonates so well with our Young Guns members because it is one of the biggest networking events for our members to join in on. It is also a chance to highlight the 2022 Young Guns Community Investment Project, where the proceeds for Casino Night are donated.
Why is it so important for young professionals to get involved with organizations like TREC? How would you describe the impact that TREC has had on your career?
I think the most important thing is the opportunity TREC provides to give back to our community as well as meet and network with likeminded individuals who share that same desire.
Now that Rising to the Top and Casino Night are behind us, what are the Young Guns’ priorities for the rest of the year?
Young Guns priorities for the rest of the year are getting the 2022 Community Investment Project kicked off and continuing with our Breakfast Groups and About Town tours.
On June 9, we cut the ribbon on the 2021 Young Guns Project, a renovation of the Grace at Holmes apartments, and toured the project you co-managed with Tara Harandi in 2020, the WeCreation Innovation Center. How excited are you for our members and partners in the community to finally see these projects?
We were very excited to be a part of both projects for St. Philip’s School and Community Center and had a great turnout! Getting to showcase all the hard work our Young Guns put into both projects and seeing the impact we are making is very gratifying.
TREC’s slogan “Build the City You’ve Imagined” serves as a challenge to our members to leave an impactful legacy on our city and in the community. What does this slogan mean to you and what kind of legacy would you like to leave through your real estate career and involvement with TREC?
The first thing that comes to mind is to always find ways to improve and better your community as well as the people around you. Through TREC’s Dallas Catalyst Project and having been a part of the previous years’ projects, we are seeing these changes happen and building up our community. I hope through my involvement others see the real changes that we are doing and are inspired to continue to do the same.
