Let’s meet the members of the Associate Leadership Council (ALC) Class of 2025 Steering Committee!

Comprised of 12 program alumni, the ALC Steering Committee reviews all applications and meets with each candidate prior to voting to decide the makeup of the next class. Classes have a diverse selection of participants across industry specialization, corporate representation, gender, and ethnicity.

It is customary for candidates to schedule in-person or phone meetings with Steering Committee members. We are also planning an information session for the Class of 2025, through which candidates may meet with Steering Committee members.

Application materials for the ALC Class of 2025 are due no later than Monday, December 9. Candidates must submit a completed application and commitment form, two letters of recommendation, and a recent headshot.

If you have any questions, please contact Sean Daly.

ALC Class of 2021

What was your favorite aspect of ALC?
My favorite aspect of ALC was gaining a deeper understanding of the City beyond what we’re accustomed to. For example, the opportunity to see the inner working s of departments like the police during our ride-along gave me a new appreciation for how our City operates on a day-to-day basis.

Did you have a favorite Program Day?
Past, Present and Future was one of my favorite days.

What was your favorite aspect of ALC?
My favorite part of ALC was really getting to know a broad spectrum of people across the CRE industry in Dallas. You do not really have any other opportunity to interact with so many different people from different CRE disciplines for such an extended period of time.

Did you have a favorite Program Day?
My favorite program days are education and infrastructure.  I’m an infrastructure nerd so hearing about new rail lines or new parks was always interesting!

Since you graduated how has ALC impacted your career?
It’s helped me by expanding my network.    I frequently have an ALC connection that pops up in a helpful way when I’m not expecting it.

What was your favorite aspect of ALC?
Meeting and getting to work with motivated, hardworking, and likeminded people which I still keep in touch with today.

Did you have a favorite Program Day?
‘Dallas: Past, Present, and Future’ really kicked off the year for me and made me understand that although from Dallas I didn’t know that much about the city I grew up in and it’s history.

Since you graduated how has ALC impacted your career?
Really made me think about the issues Dallas was/is dealing with and opened my mind to helping the city that helped make me who I am.

Ana Stroud

Kimley-Horn
ALC Class of 2008

What was your favorite aspect of ALC?
The bond you create with your classmates feels about as strong as the bond of those you grow up with. Similarly, the bond is unique, and you quickly feel like they are like family. And when you see a classmate achieve milestones in their career, you are instantly jubilant for their success.

Did you have a favorite Program Day?
I loved our Education and Healthcare Day. The education day opened my eyes to challenges DISD was facing at the time and encouraged me to give back as a volunteer and mentor. During the Healthcare Day, we got to learn about the Parkland Burn Unit and met a Dallas SWAT officer who was also a Parkland ER trauma doctor. It was an experience I’ll never forget.

Since you graduated how has ALC impacted your career?
It really encouraged me to take on volunteerism and leadership opportunities within the industry and at Kimley-Horn. I’m grateful to those who invested time in helping me grow and wanted to return the favor. ALC helped me realize that.

Tobin Swope

What was your favorite aspect of ALC?
The many friendships that remain strong even more than 10 years later.

Did you have a favorite Program Day?
Education.

Since you graduated how has ALC impacted your career?
The relationships formed within the Class have helped me immensely in my career, resulting in several direct, and even more often, indirect referrals.  Perhaps even more impactful than the referrals, though, participating in ALC opened my eyes to the many challenges our City faces, while also encouraging me to learn about all of the organizations and individuals that are taking those challenges on in hopes of making our City a better place.  Since graduating from ALC, I have worked and volunteered alongside some of those organizations and individuals, which has impacted my family and me (and, as a result, my career) in big (and positive!) ways.

ALC Class of 2011

What was your favorite aspect of ALC?
I truly appreciated how we were nurtured throughout our ALC experience. The commitment of so many individuals, sharing their time, knowledge, and passion for this city and program, deeply influenced my perspective on projects, relationships, and my approach to giving moving forward.

Did you have a favorite Program Day?
I cherished every day, but Education Day had the greatest impact on me at that point in my life. Discovering the diverse opportunities available to children based on their unique needs and aspirations was truly enlightening. This experience profoundly influenced my family’s approach to eduacation when my children began elementary school.

Since you graduated how has ALC impacted your career?
After graduating, I served on the TREC board, focusing on fundraising and community engagement for several years. My experiences with the ALC and TREC board not only equipped me to lead a Dallas-based educational foundation but also helped me develop my leadership skills and forge lasting relationships within our community.
