What is your favorite thing to do in Dallas?

I love how many great restaurants and social places we have to meet and gather in Dallas. I love getting together with people, whether it’s for lunch or dinner or whatever. And on the weekends, I love going on all our nature trails and attending Stars games. I love going to DFW Airport too! I know, I know, it sounds crazy, but I love Dallas for all the activities that it provides here, but I also love that we have such a great airport and go anywhere we want to go easily.

Why has being a member of TREC been a positive experience for you?

I am so thankful to be involved with TREC. What I really enjoy about TREC is that it has such broad, high-level exposure with every company that touches real estate. It’s such a broad networking opportunity. I think there are a lot of people in our real estate community who don’t even fully understand all that TREC does, because we just do so much. There’s something for everybody.

What events and programs are you most excited about this year?

Well, we’re starting with a Speaker Series called “A Global Perspective.” And that’s going to be really exciting. We have got a really great panel talking about things going on globally that affect us locally. We’re working on doing a breakfast around artificial intelligence (AI), and how it affects the real estate industry as well. And every year that year-end wrap up with Mark Gibson is wonderful. So we’d love to have him return as well.

How do these events equip CRE industry professionals?

First of all, you’ve got all the networking with professionals from every industry that touches real estate. And we always want to make sure that the topics are relevant or interesting to all the people who attend. We want to equip the audience with new knowledge or a better understanding of whatever the topic may be. We always have a great group of people onstage, they’re so engaging, and you always come away with some new ideas and something learned.

Why are TREC events such unique sponsorship opportunities? How can companies learn more about sponsoring an event?

I think you can tell by the number of sponsors that have continually supported us year after year, like Bank of Texas and Grant Thornton, that it’s been beneficial to get their name out there through our events. You’re getting your name out there, and it helps with growth, with recruiting, and with taking your company to the next level. If you’re interested in sponsoring an event, you can contact me or Jennifer Schmiel, Senior Director of TREC for more information.
