The hard work and dedication of our members forms the bedrock of The Real Estate Council’s efforts to catalyze community investment in Dallas, influence public policy, propel careers, and develop the leaders of tomorrow.
Each month, we are spotlighting TREC members who have made significant contributions to our community investment initiatives and continue to push the limits of what our organization and its partners can accomplish for our city.
This month, we are proud to recognize John Adolph of Winstead PC and Drew Shivley of ME Engineers!

I was the Volunteer and Community Engagement Chair for the Young Guns in 2018 and have participated in the Public Policy Committee and the PAC Committee as well. Most importantly, however, I was a member of the Associate Leadership Council Class of 2019, which is known throughout North Texas to be the best class ever.
How did you begin volunteering with TREC Community Investors? What has the experience been like?
When I first joined TREC in 2016, I heard from other members that getting on the R&D Committee was a great way to get involved with the community focused efforts of TREC. I enjoyed my first experience with R&D and continued volunteering as TREC transitioned into the Dallas Catalyst Project. I was interested in having the opportunity to evaluate each group’s proposals for how TREC’s dollars could help them improve Dallas. There are a lot of passionate people here with solid ideas on how to improve the city – it was tough to pick just one. But over the past few years, it’s been incredibly rewarding to see the improvement in the Forest District and I’ve loved being a part of it. Continuing to serve with TREC CI helps me stay involved and up-to-date on our ongoing efforts.

How did you begin volunteering with TREC Community Investors? What has the experience been like?
A member of TREC reached out to let me know about the need for engineering design on this project and I was more than happy to get involved for such a great cause. I’ve always looked for ways to contribute in meaningful ways in the community and this project has been a fantastic way to contribute. Working with TREC and Golden SEEDS has been a wonderful experience and I look forward to the next project!
