A group of TREC members will travel to Austin later this month to participate in the Real Estate Councils of Texas (RECsTX) Lobby Day and meet with elected officials representing North Texas in the 89th Texas Legislature.

The biennial Lobby Day event, which will take place Feb. 25-26, gives our members the opportunity to advocate on behalf of Dallas’ commercial real estate industry and its interests within proposed legislation.

TREC’s representatives are comprised primarily of members engaged within our Public Policy Committee, chaired by GFF’s Evan Beattie, and TREC Political Action Committee (PAC), chaired by Milhaus Development’s Jim Reynolds.

TREC’s public policy priorities include improving the development process, economic development, public finance, investments, and taxes; reasonable land use regulations; mobility and transportation; affordable and mixed-use housing; and education.

TREC’s representatives will then break into three groups as they meet with legislators from 10:00 a.m. until noon and again from 1:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m., when Lobby Day is set to conclude.
