DALLAS (April 3, 2025) – The Real Estate Council Political Action Committee (TREC PAC) announces its endorsement of 11 candidates in the upcoming Dallas City Council election.

As part of its vetting process, TREC PAC carefully reviewed each candidate’s voting records, public comments and public service records. In addition, TREC PAC interviewed more than 30 candidates for all City Council seats to learn more about their backgrounds and plans if elected.

The list of TREC PAC-endorsed candidates includes nine incumbents, Chad West for District 1, Jesse Moreno for District 2, Zarin Gracey for District 3, Jaime Resendez for District 5, Adam Bazaldua for District 7, Paula Blackmon for District 9, Kathy Stewart for District 10, Cara Mendelsohn for District 12 and Gay Donnell Willis for District 13.

Additionally, TREC PAC is endorsing one new candidate, Jeff Kitner for District 11 and one candidate who previously ran for Dallas City Council, Maxie Johnson for District 4. Johnson and Kitner are running to fill the seats that will be vacated by term-limited councilmembers Carolyn King Arnold (District 4) and Jaynie Schultz (District 11), who announced last summer that she would not be seeking reelection after serving her second term.

“As the largest and most influential commercial real estate organization of its kind in Texas, advocating for issues that positively impact our industry and promote the long-term economic growth and vitality of North Texas continues to be top of mind for TREC,” said Jim Reynolds, 2025 TREC PAC chair. “Our endorsements for this year’s Dallas City Council candidates represent those who best champion our vision for the future of the city, specifically as it relates to housing affordability, zoning, economic development, infrastructure investment, public safety and property tax reform.”

Early voting for the spring election begins Tuesday, April 22 and ends Tuesday, April 29. Election day is Saturday, May 3.
