Member Spotlight: Ashley Engler, 2024 Young Guns Chair

Ashley Engler, Development Associate at Trammell Crow Residential, has been a member of The Real Estate Council for almost seven years. She originally joined as a student member while studying at Southern Methodist University. Engler has been active in TREC, joining a Young Guns Breakfast Group, serving as co-chair of Forum, then as Young Guns Vice Chair. Engler is the 2024 Young Guns Chair.

How has being a member of TREC shaped your career?

I tell new members all the time that the thing I love most about TREC is the relationships you can make. Especially as a Young Gun, these relationships are so important for your career. The connections you make now can grow into doing deals together. They are not just transactional relationships either; I have a lot of friendships that I’ve formed through TREC.

What is your favorite part of being involved with Young Guns?

There are great networking opportunities, and I love that there are so many Young Guns programs and events throughout the year. Casino Night is the one that people think of first, but Rising to the Top and Forum are great opportunities where Young Guns get insights from major industry leaders. They allow us an opportunity to ask questions and get advice from some of the key deal makers of Dallas.

What is your favorite place in Dallas?

I love both the Knox Henderson and Lower Greenville neighborhoods of Dallas! They are such walkable areas with fantastic restaurants and shopping.

Tell us a little bit about Casino Night! Why is this such a big annual event? What are you excited about?

Casino Night is on April 11 this year, and we have a Casino Royale Theme! The best thing about Casino Night is that it is a great way for Young Guns to get dressed up and mingle with other people while raising money for a great cause. It is always so fun. All the proceeds go towards our annual Young Guns Community Investors project. And this will be the first Young Guns project focused on our new Dallas Catalyst Project neighborhood, Mill City. The Casino Night co-chairs, Bryce and Austin, are doing a really great job planning the whole event this year. I know it’s going to be fantastic!
