The Real Estate Council (TREC) supports the redevelopment of the current Dallas City Hall site as a transformational economic development opportunity for downtown Dallas. Throughout this process, we have closely followed the discussions and carefully reviewed the information, analysis, and cost estimates presented to the Council.
We believe Dallas has an opportunity to create lasting economic value, strengthen connectivity within downtown and surrounding neighborhoods, and catalyze investment in an area that has remained underdeveloped for decades. We also believe this opportunity should be guided by the right type of development, aligned with the community’s vision and priorities, to deliver meaningful, generational benefits for our city. While we recognize and respect the differing views surrounding this issue, our position is grounded in the long-term economic vitality and competitiveness of Dallas.
