We are so grateful to our members, member companies, and partners in the community for supporting The Real Estate Council (TREC) and TREC Community Investors throughout the last year. Without your dedication and generosity, we would not be able to cultivate such strong relationships in the commercial real estate industry, catalyze community investment, influence public policy, propel careers, or develop the leaders of tomorrow.

Here is what our Executive Committee members are thankful for this Thanksgiving season:

Kim Butler, HALL Group
2022 TREC Chair

I want to wish you and yours a very happy Thanksgiving. Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday by a longshot. It gives me the opportunity to pause and be thankful in an even more profound way. I’m grateful for my family, my faith, my friends. My family, they keep me strong and keep me humble. I’m also thankful for my tireless teammates at HALL Group and my HALL Family. I feel so fortunate to be in the real estate business in Dallas, Texas. I cannot imagine an industry with more dynamic, kind, energetic, creative, collaborative, and truly generous people. The Real Estate Council allows us to harness that generosity and talent to make a real difference in our city. I want to thank Linda McMahon and the entire TREC staff, our Executive Committee, and boards for investing alongside our community partners in underserved neighborhoods. We’ve also worked hard to influence public policy and grow the leaders of tomorrow. I’m hopeful you will choose to become even more involved in TREC in 2023 as we build the city we’ve all imagined. Happy thanksgiving!

Linda McMahon, The Real Estate Council
TREC President and CEO

I am thankful for our team – the TREC staff, our members and companies, and our partners throughout Dallas – who generously give their time and talents to invest in our industry and the Dallas community. I am also thankful to my wonderful family and friends for their unwavering love, support, and guidance.

Scott Rohrman, 42 Real Estate
2022 Public Policy Chair

I am thankful for TREC and all the staff and volunteers who help make our city and area a much better place to live.  I am thankful for the business community of Dallas who allowed me to be involved with the city’s real estate even though all I had to offer was hard work and long hours.  I am thankful to my family who love me despite my many flaws.  I am thankful for my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, as I derive peace and strength from my personal relationship with Him each and every day.

Mattye Jones, Coats Rose, P.C.
2022 TREC PAC Chair

I am thankful for family and friends who support health, prosperity and harmony for all.  I am also thankful to have the opportunity to collaborate with colleagues and friends to promote initiatives within my daily walk which includes developing housing and enriching quality of life.

Jeff Montgomery, Republic Title
2022 Programs Chair

I am very thankful for my family, friends and being surrounded by an amazing team at Republic Title. I’m proud to be part of the North Texas commercial real estate community whose can-do attitude and giving nature in this region is unmatched. I’m also thankful for TREC and the collective contributions of our members to the advancement of our industry and betterment of our community. Have a great Thanksgiving and Happy Holidays!

Mike Ablon, PegasusAblon Properties
2021 TREC Chair

I am very grateful for Dak Prescott’s thumb, I’m very grateful that the elections are over, but on the serious side, I’m very grateful that I live in Dallas and that I get to live and work in a community with professionals who really care for each other and the broader community. I hope each of you gets a full belly of tryptophan with your nearest and dearest, and that we all have a great year for each other and for our city.

Max Schwartzstein, Providential Realty Partners
ALC Class of 2021 Board Representative

I have so much to be thankful for this year and I hope all of you do too. I’m especially thankful for the guidance and education that I’ve received through The Real Estate Council and also the opportunity to serve, especially in the Forest District as part of the Dallas Catalyst Project. I hope we all continue to serve the community through The Real Estate Council and other efforts, and that we all have a great and successful holiday season and a happy new year.
