On this episode of TRECcast, we wrap Season 3 of Legends of Commercial Real Estate with a wide-ranging conversation between Cawley Partners CEO Bill Cawley and The Beck Group CEO Fred Perpall. They talk about Fred’s upbringing in his home country of The Bahamas, his career in the design and construction industry, his love of athletics and particularly basketball, and how his strong faith shaped his outlook on leadership and parenting.

Fred has spent nearly a quarter-century with Beck, joining the company in 1999 as an architectural intern and working his way up to being named CEO in 2013. He earned both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in architecture from UTA, and was part of the 183rd class of the Harvard Business School’s Advanced Management Program in 2012.

In recent years, Fred served as Chairman of the Dallas Citizens Council from 2019-2020, joined the FedEx Corporation’s Board of Directors in 2021, and in 2023, he’ll become the 67th president of the United States Golf Association.
