Since first convening on January 22, The Real Estate Council (TREC) Think Tank has been hard at work brainstorming new and creative ideas to solve Dallas’ most pressing issues. TREC members from a variety of backgrounds and companies compose the Think Tank. The Think Tank’s first task involved forming “vision categories” to help focus their work:
- Community & Culture
- Education
- Governance
- Housing
- Mobility
- Technology & Communications

The Think Tank’s 27 members then split into six small groups to dive deeper into each of the categories. The Think Tank is expected to draft individual white papers before compiling them into a full report that will be distributed across TREC’s communication channels. Stay tuned for what ideas the Think Tank cooks up.
TREC Think Tank takes a blank slate approach and discusses all parts of the Dallas and regional community, identifying initiatives to build the city we imagine 10, 25, and 50 years from now. The Think Tank will report back to the Public Policy Committee and the TREC Board of Directors with vision statements and action items.
