After permitting and construction issues delayed their class project by more than two years, the Associate Leadership Council (ALC) Class of 2021 finally cut the ribbon on South Dallas Cloud Kitchen, a Dallas Catalyst Project: Forest District collaboration with Cornerstone Baptist Church located in The Crossing shopping Center.

On this episode of TRECcast, ALC Project Manager Estrella Carter (Granite Properties) talks to us about how the commercial kitchen will help Forest District culinary entrepreneurs grow their businesses, feed a known food desert community, and educate residents on healthy eating and cooking habits.

The kitchen joins Cornerstone Community Laundromat and Southpoint Community Market – two other Dallas Catalyst Project: Forest District partnerships between TREC and Cornerstone – in providing services not previously available to Forest District residents, most notably the ability to wash and dry clothes and purchase fresh food and other household items at little to no cost.
