Retail sales and development have exceeded the national average in Dallas-Fort Worth in an effort to keep up with the metroplex's population boom. Dallas ended 2023 with a 95 percent retail occupancy rate, which accounts for 1,001 projects and 137 million square feet. New space deliveries nearly doubled as well, from 539,000 square feet in 2022 to about 1 million in 2023.
