In addition to advocacy and leadership and professional development, community investment is the third major pillar of TREC’s new three-year strategic plan to build the strongest commercial real estate community in North Texas.
By furthering its strategic partnerships, lending programs, and catalytic revitalization projects, TREC Community Investors will continue its three-decades-plus-long commitment to making meaningful impacts in our region’s most underserved and historically disinvested neighborhoods.
We will do that in two major ways:
Expand CDFI Lending and Partnerships
As a community development financial institution, TREC Community Investors has long supported impactful projects with access to capital and technical assistance. We will now look to strengthen and expand our loan pipeline, growing our relationships with community developers and leveraging our visibility to attract new capital, clients, and projects.
Complete Dallas Catalyst Project: Mill City
In 2025, we completed the first wave of Mill City projects, began working on new ones, and continued connecting with residents and community leaders. We will use these wins to catalyze our work through our remaining Mill City investments, celebrating successes with our partners and neighbors, and replicating our efforts with new partnerships.
